The 16th annual Visa pour l'Image international festival of photojournalism is ready for another year of provocative programming.

A preliminary list of exhibitions include bodies of work by Abbas, Henri Bureau, Jason Eskenazi, Stefan Falke, Lu Guang, Benoit Gysembergh, Tim Hetherington, David Strick, Ken Light, Marco Longari, Christopher Morris, Jack Picone, Noel Quidu, John Stanmeyer and Ami Vitale.

Last year's lighthearted look at the Rolling Stones was so well-received it was brought back for a second night. Leroy says he's trying to program more "soft stories," but admits that they're "not so easy to find this year." Two already-confirmed screenings that should liven the mood include a retrospective on 50 years of rock 'n' roll and a celebration of the 100th birthday of surrealist artist Salvador Dali.

Other screenings include a tribute to Robert Capa and Werner Bischof, who died 50 years ago, the liberation of Paris and the D-Day landing in Normandy, the 10th anniversary of the World Press Photo Masterclass and a sampling of work from local Iraqi photographers.
